Text in original Preserved Tanks In USA publication:
This Sabre is registered as belonging to Alan Wise (source: AFV Society/HMVF). It was previously for sale on the website of Military Vehicle Sales at Chillicothe, Ohio when its description was: “All periscopes are included and function. A dummy RARDEN 30mm cannon and 7.62mm Chain Gun are installed with dummy ammo as well. All proper external storage boxes are included. An intercom with headsets are installed. User manual is included as is parts sources. Tracks are in excellent condition with rubber pads. Engine and gearbox are new MoD refurbished” (source: Army Jeeps). Previously it was at A+S at Norfolk in England (source: A+S), presumably for restoration. It is presumed to have been purchased from Witham Specialist Vehicles, the likely source of another Sabre restored by A+S. This Sabre was with 1st Battalion of the Staffordshire Regiment in 2003 (source: sirhc/HMVF); at that time the unit was based in Tidworth.
