Text in original Preserved Tanks In France publication:
This tank was captured during the Gulf War and arrived at Saumur in 1992. Iraq placed an order with China for between 1000 and 2000 of these vehicles and first deliveries were made in 1983. The design of the T-69 is based on the Russian T-55.
