IS-2s served with the Polish 4th and 5th Heavy Tank Regiments in 1944 and 1945. At the end of the war Poland had 26 still in service and these formed the post-war 7th Heavy Tank Regiment; this IS-2 is likely to have been one of those surviving vehicles.
