Text in original Preserved Tanks In Britain publication:
This M47 was rescued on its way from Castlemartin, Wales, to Lulworth, Dorset, for use as a range target. It originally belonged to a Belgian Lancer regiment. It was put on the museum books in 1973. When another M47 in better condition was sent to the Lulworth ranges it was exchanged by the Bovington Museum and this one was sent in its place, in about 1987. Its current status is unknown.
