These remained in service with the 2nd Armoured Regiment until 1982, when they were replaced by twenty-six Scorpions. This M41 was a gift of the New Zealand Government and is shown with New Zealand Army markings. It was transported from Auckland to Felixstowe in September 1988 on the MV Vodice. It has a recorded mileage of 4026 miles. The maker’s plate in the driver’s compartment has been removed, but features of this vehicle indicate that it was built after vehicle 1803. It has a B47 Wireless Set, dated 1960, serial NZ 101, complete with headsets. Periscopes are complete, except for part of the commander’s one.
