Text in original Preserved Italian Tanks publication:
This M42 Semovente is displayed in the Park in the upper part of the city. It used to be fitted with a fake wooden gun, was missing most external fittings, and was generally in a poor condition, but it has recently been restored. It has a plate on the side that states “A gift of the tankers of Bergamo to the city”. (Source: M. Viucci and D. Guglielmi).

Text in original Preserved Tanks In Italy publication:
This Semovente has been on display in the open since 1959, fitted with a fake gun. It was restored by OTO Melara in 2007 and a canopy has been installed over it to give it some protection from the elements. It was not a full restoration, for example the fittings missing from the rear hull were not replaced, but the replica gun was removed and replaced with a correct one. (Source: M. Foti). Before restoration it was generally in poor condition, with peeling paint, most of the internal components missing, and some signs of rust. Where the sand-coloured paint was missing it was possible to see it was originally painted dark green. (Source: P. Podavini via Censimento website).
