This vehicle was specially developed for use against heavy Allied and Soviet tanks, and consisted of the 90/53 dual-purpose gun mounted on a modified M14/41 tank chassis for use against ground targets. About 30 examples were built in 1942 and early 1943 and 24 served with the 10º Raggruppamento Semoventi in Sicily during the Allied invasion July 1943; they were manned by Italian crews but served under German operational control.
