Text in original Preserved Tanks In Poland publication:

This T-34 is mounted on a plinth in Ścinawa. The story is that it was the first of a group of three tanks to cross the nearby Oder River as armoured reconnaissance. Without support, the town was re-occupied by the Germans, the bridge was blown up and the tanks were surrounded and destroyed (source: Odkrywca). However, it has been suggested that this tank was instead randomly selected for the memorial from a group of tanks held after the war near the old airport (source: Garnek). The plinth originally had a large Soviet plaque on the side but this has been removed or painted over and there is now a small plaque on the front that reads:

PAMIĘCI POLEGŁYM
W CZASIE WALK
W STYCZNIU 1945 r
IN MEMORY OF THOSE WHO DIED
DURING THE FIGHTING
JANUARY 1945
