This reworked M4A2 was donated by the Bourges Technical Establishment (Etablissement Technique de Bourges, ETBS.). It belonged to the 2ème Division Blindée. It is hoped to return it to running order, in which case it would be the only tank of a French Armoured Division of the Second World War to be running again. It was used after the war as a test-bed for various modernisations, including the installation of a new mantlet and a 75mm CN 75-50 gun. This was part of the development of the M50 Super Sherman which was supplied to Israel and based on the M4A4 T.
