Text in original Preserved German Tanks publication:

This Ausf D has spaced armour in front of the driver’s and operator’s positions, and additional armour on the superstructure sides and nose. It also has Schürzen armour on the turret and has been re-armed with the 7.5cm KwK 40 L/43. It was at the School of Tank Technology, Chobham Lane, Chertsey, before being moved to Bovington. It is believed to have been captured at a tank driver training school (NSKK) in 1945. It is now part of a D-Day display.
The museum used to have a second Panzerkampfwagen IV but this was given back to Germany in 1960. It is now part of the Panzermuseum collection at Munster.

Text in Preserved German Tanks Update:

This Pz IV was built in 1940 by the German manufacturer Krupp, and was upgraded in 1943. Its service with the Nationalsozialistisches Kraftfahrerkorps, NSKK (National Socialist Motor Corps) was probably as a driver training tank. It was gifted to the Bovington museum in 1951.
