The Land Warfare Centre (LWC) is located at Warminster on Salisbury Plain, the British Army’s principal training area. Its mission is to: “support the Army through the provision of tactical doctrine, training support, operational support and force development in order to support the delivery of appropriately trained, supported and motivated force elements and individuals on operations and at readiness on an enduring basis.” A Squadron of 1st Royal Tank Regiment forms the armoured part of the LWC battlegroup and is equipped with Challenger 2 tanks.
