Guy Gilis is the manager of J. Gilis-Cos NV, a transport company based in Turnhout, and also a collector of military vehicles. In the Antwerp Gazette of May 2007 he is quoted as saying about his collection: “It’s not a museum, it is a purely personal hobby. My aim is to get them to their original condition and have the occasional ride. My interest is based solely in the vehicles and their mechanics. The politics of weapons of World War II does not interest me.”
