In the centre of Placu Wdzięczności (Thanksgiving Square) in Lubrza is a war memorial consisting of flagpoles and a PT-76 tank on a plinth. It commemorates a battle in 1945; in this place were buried Soviet soldiers who fell in battle against the German occupying forces. Their remains were later transferred to a military cemetery in Cynince. Originally there was an SU-76 on the plinth but this was donated to the Muzeum Wojska Polskiego in Warsaw. It was first replaced by a 76mm towed gun, before the gun was itself replaced by the current vehicle following the intervention of local residents. (Source: Wikipedia.pl, Wakacje).
