Since its launch as Rally Rescue Services in 1968, RR Services has supplied many collectors with military vehicles and equipment, perhaps more than any other UK dealer. Starting with the sale of Austin Champs, RR services moved onto Land-rovers and then through Jeeps, Dodges and GMCs to tanks, guns and rigs of every size. It has supplied vehicles and artillery from jeeps to tanks for many major films and TV productions, including Saving Private Ryan and Band of Brothers. In the late 1970’s RR moved from London to larger premises near Ashford in Kent. Mike Stallwood, the Managing Director of RR Services, is well known for buying and selling unusual vehicles, including the purchase of Sturmgeschütz assault guns from an auction in Finland in September 2007. He is best known for importing a large batch of sixteen M3 Stuart light tanks, and a large cache of associated spares, into England from Brazil in 2008-9. They were transported in containers by ship from Brazil to Tilbury (with an unplanned diversion to Antwerp). The majority of these have been sold; many have since been restored and can be seen in collections and at military vehicle events.
