The Swiss Army maintains a collection of armoured vehicles at Thun, as part of its training establishment. It is located on Militärstrasse, off Allmendstrasse. The vehicles are displayed in the open in a huge triangle, bounded on two sides by vehicle sheds. These sheds house current Swiss Army vehicles, and Leopard Tanks can be seen nearby (and Centurion Tanks and Armoured Recovery Vehicles and Panzer 68 Tanks in the past). The base is not open to the public but it is possible to obtain permission in advance to see and photograph the collection.
