The Zakłady Mechaniczne “Bumar – Łabędy” S.A. (Bumar-Łabędy Mechanical Plant) is a partnership of the State Treasury built on the foundation of the original Zakłady Mechaniczne “Łabędy” which was created in 1951. The Plant has been included in a group of companies of special importance for Polish national economy and security. Production covers heavy armoured equipment, construction machines, and welded structures, as well as forging, castings, tools, transmissions and gear-wheels. Bumar-Łabędy has an approved position in domestic and foreign markets for military equipment. High quality armoured equipment including PT-91 tanks, WZT-3 armoured recovery vehicles and PMC-90 armoured vehicle launched bridges are its main products. It offers a package of services including heat treatment and protective coatings, overhaul of machines, laboratory tests, as well as leasing of fully equipped stores, heated halls, closed areas and open space with complex technical services. The range of tanks produced here includes the Polish T-34-85 and vehicles based on its chassis, plus various versions of the T-55 and T-72.
