The Muzeum Broni Pancernej – Centrum Szkolenia Wojsk Lądowych – im. Hetmana Polnego Koronnego Stefana Czarnieckiego w Poznaniu (Armoured Weapons Museum – Land Forces Training Centre – Chief Hetman of the Crown Stefana Czarnieckiego in Poznan) or MBP CSWL was previously the Muzeum Broni Pancernej Wyzszej Szkoly Oficerskiej im. S. Czarneckiego (Armour Museum of S. Czarnecki Military College). It was established in 1963-4 and was originally a place where student Polish Army officers had classes on the design and operation of the armoured vehicles with which the Army was equipped. Through the work of the officers in charge a large collection of armoured vehicles was collected in the current main building of the museum. The collection also includes separate exhibits of guns, ammunition and other vehicle equipment, with examples of each tank’s main armament ammunition mounted on a rack in front of or beside it. Vehicles in the collection include tanks, self-propelled guns, armoured reconnaissance and armoured personnel carriers. Most of the equipment is of Soviet manufacture and was used during World War II, or post-war, by armoured units of the Polish Army. It represents one of the biggest armoured collections in Poland, and includes some rare exhibits.
