He has written numerous articles and books on Soviet and Russian military equipment and is a regular contributor to Jane’s Intelligence Review. He has lived and worked in Russia since 1992, and has a Russian wife, Lena, and two daughters. (Source: Preserved Tanks in Russia, 1997). Jim has been author or co-author of many books and articles on tanks and other armoured vehicles. For Armour Archive he was co-author of Preserved Tanks in Russia (published in 1997) and primary author of Preserved Soviet Tanks (currently unpublished).
