The BTT-1 heavy ARV was based on obsolete ISU-122/152 SPG chassis. In 1960 the Kirov Plant undertook a capital rebuild programme to convert obsolete ISU-122's to ARV's and produced a large number of BTT-1’s. There are several types, with and without winch, entrenching spade etc.
